Burnt roses, but also spiced roses and singed petals. Roses dried by smoke and roses preserved in salt. Fresh roses and dead roses. Like a wild tangle of vines, an explosive flash of aldehydes reveal a dramatic scene without apparent organisation: a plush curtain of incense frames the blunt hum of pepper and cinnamon, an impression of salty air, and the cashmere-soft heart of lavender, patchouli, and sandalwood.
