Looks great, smells great, won't lather

Seems to be a common theme. Bought this as a stopgap between some Taylor of Old Bond St. Wanted to like this as it smells great and looks the part. Still want to like it, but it just won't lather up. More parts disaster than triumph really, sorry guys.

Nice ingredients smell, poor lather :(

Great ingredients, nice smell, but not up to the task of a safety razor shave. I really wanted to like this product but it just falls short.

Needs lots of product to get anywhere near creamy, I even prefer 'Shave' to this and at $2.50 (Shave) compared to $26 (Triumph) I would save my money and go cheaper or with a different brand, like Wahl traditional etc.

Win for T&D

I tentatively gave this product ago after receiving it as a gift and reading some reviews. As with all T&D products, the ingredients are of a high standard and great on the skin. The cream itself is appealing not only to the nose but the eyes with a pearlescent sheen. Now this is where it got a touch hairy, the downfall that everyone seems to make note is the lather. Initially it was a little tricky, but once I had the right mixture it lathered beautifully and I had no issues at all. I used a badger and mug and got excellent results. The shave was incredibly smooth and left my skin feeling great. This was after a week’s growth of reasonable coarseness. No irritation or burn insight. With a little experimentation and practice with lathering techniques you will have no trouble at all. This product performs very well and I high recommend it.

No Lather

Only reason for 2 starts instead of one because it has good ingredients. I was excited to try it when i received it as a sample and couldn't get it to lather while whipping it for about 2 min in a bowl with a badger. Im sure im not doing anything wrong if everyone else has the same problem. T&D, if you remake this cream with a fix i promise i will buy a tub or two. That is my only problem!

A magnificent shave

Brilliantly updated "olde worlde" aroma and great glide gives a very satisfying shaving experience. The cream has an attractive pearlescent sheen , is ultra soft ,and that fab aroma just springs out of the pot.Skin feels great afterwards and well prepped to take an after shave product such as a balm.Yes it does tend to 'wet out' (as per the makers notes on the product) but I have had good success using my fingers and especially mug lathering with a not too wet synthetic silvertip .Made in Australia to boot ..
