It works well for what it is. You just apply some to a wet face and rub it in. Let it sit for a minute or two. Unlike the pre-shave oils I'm used to it isn't thick and doesn't really create an extra layer of protection. It mostly just helps soften the beard and moisturise the skin before you get to a shave without clogging up the skin and beard. It works for me like preshave oil does but doesn't interfere with the lather at all and makes sure I always get an irritation free shave. It's not the best if you want extra slickness or protection during your shave though like an oil. It just mostly helps to keep skin healthy and prevent razor-burn or cutting of blemishes. No breaking out for me. The scent is awful though. I liked the scent of the green line but this smells like diesel mixed with chemicals almost. Good thing it is weak and non-lasting.
