Disappointing

Really disappointing especially considering the brand’s usual high standards. This soap takes effort to work up a lather but only produces a very thin, milky lather which dries up almost immediately irrespective of temperature. It smells nice at least but it’s not a good shaving product in my opinion.

Slick and easy to load

I always get a very slick shave from this. I've found that it doesn't need to soak in water for a long time like other soaps I've used either and was very easy to load up my horse-hair brush. This might be my new go-to

Fantastic

I use this soap refill with the original wooden bowl from my first order and a badger hair brush.
Just wet the brush and swirl in the bowl on top of the soap and I get a good consistency lather which is easy to apply and makes shaving silky smooth.
I've never had any issues with this product and I will definitely buy again.
This stuff also smells amazing! subtle lime scent, not too in your face.

Maybe it is just me

I can't get this soap to give me any kind of usable lather. Maybe Brisbane has hard water, maybe my technique sucks, but all I get is a foamy mess that disappears in about 30 seconds. If I work at it for about 10 minutes I can get a better lather, not a great lather, but it shouldn't be this hard.
