Should have bought this decades ago. Really gentle and a joy to shave with

I treated myself to Merkur 34c to replace my old cartridge razor.

Took a couple of shaves to get used to the shorter handle. But I've learned to work with the razor weight and can now get a smooth, close shave. The handle knurling means wetness doesn't effect grip and being a two piece set up is easy to clean

The 34C gives even results with both downwards and upwards passes. It's also gentle on my skin. I can see why everyone recommends it as the best safety razor to buy when you first start wet shaving.

I have used the 34C for only a couple of days and its short handle feels odd compared to what I am used to. I will look at the 23C as a more comfortable alternative. I could not recommend the 34C for this reason.

It would have been a good token of appreciation to have received a pack of razors with it since it is possible to purchase this razor elsewhere.
Otherwise very happy.

Past razors I've owned have been to be too harsh and hit or miss with an even shave. Found my perfect shave with the Merkur 34C. In conjunction with Astra Superior Platinum blades my daily shave is now a pleasure.
